What are my transport options for getting to and from Oxford city?

Train

Direct services run from London Paddington (serving Oxford station) and London Marylebone (serving Oxford and Oxford Parkway stations). Other services operate from the north via Birmingham New Street, from the south via Reading and from the west via Didcot or Reading. Oxford station is a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Oxford.

For details and to plan your journey, go to National Rail Enquiries.

Coach and bus

There are two frequent 24-hour direct services between Oxford and London: the X90 and the Oxford Tube

Local bus services are run by Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach.

Driving and parking

Parking in the city centre of Oxford is very limited. We recommend using one of the five Park & Ride car parks:

  • Peartree (north)
  • Redbridge (south)
  • Seacourt (east)
  • Thornhill (west)
  • Water Eaton (Oxford Parkway station)

What about getting to and from Wytham Woods?

Wytham Woods is accessible by car and there is parking at the site.
