Tracing its origins back to 1249, University College has a claim to be Oxford's oldest college. It is an academically ambitious college with excellent welfare and support systems, including a range of generous bursaries. The college's students come from a wide range of backgrounds, with some 400 undergraduates and 170 graduate students from over 50 countries.
The college occupies a beautiful and central site on the High Street. The Bodleian Library is very close, the Exam Schools (where many lectures take place) are next door, and the main science site is only a five-minute bike ride away.
