The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research provides a UK focus for the promotion, development and implementation of the 3Rs in animal research and testing. The NC3Rs is an independent organisation, reporting to the UK Science Minister and stakeholders through the publication of an annual report.

Understanding Animal Research is the new organisation formed by the Research Defence Society and Coalition for Medical Progress. It represents medical researchers in the public debate about the use of animals in medical research and testing. It provides information about the need for animal research, the controls under which this research is carried out, and the benefits to medicine which have resulted.

FRAME (Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments)

FRAME is a non-governmental organisation whose long-term goal is the total elimination of laboratory animal use, through the development, validation and acceptance of replacement alternative methods. FRAME recognises that immediate abolition of all animal experiments is not possible and advocates the ‘3Rs’ approach.
