What is RSS?

RSS stands for 'really simple syndication'. If you subscribe to an RSS feed, you will be alerted whenever a new item has been added to a website you are interested in. In this case, if you subscribe to our RSS feed, will be kept up to date with PodOxford - the Oxford Admissions Podcasts.

How do I start using RSS?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a podcatcher. This is a piece of software you install on your computer to get the latest episodes automatically. Once you have downloaded the software, you follow the instructions to add the rss feed for PodOxford. The software then periodically checks to see if PodOxford has any new episodes; if so, it downloads them to your computer while you sleep. You can then listen to them either directly on your computer, or load them to your iPod or other mp3 player and listen to them on the go.
