Hill Foundation Scholarships
The Hill Foundation is a UK registered charity which provides scholarships for outstanding citizens of the Russian Federation.
Seven to ten scholarships will be available in 2014-15 for graduate and undergraduate applicants. The details on this webpage relate to scholarships for undergraduate students. For information about the scholarships for graduate degrees, please refer to the Hill Foundation webpage for graduate applicants.
Am I eligible?
Candidates should be applying to start a second BA at Oxford in October 2014.
Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry to your course. See the Course Guide for more information.
Citizens of Russia whose first degree has been taken at a Russian university and who have not subsequently taken any other degree are eligible. The Trustees encourage applications from graduates of Russian Universities who would like to benefit from the experience of the Oxford tutorial system and take a 'second first degree' with senior status.
The Trustees favour candidates who demonstrate extremely high academic ability and personal and social qualities of a high order. They seek applicants who intend to develop their careers in their homeland and who wish to spend their lives in ways that are beneficial to their home society, whether in business, academic life, public service, the arts or the professions. The Trustees will use the information that you provide in your application form to assess how you meet these criteria.
Successful candidates will be required to confirm that they will return to Russia for at least one year, following completion of their studies in the UK.
What does it cover?
100% of university and college fees and a grant for living expenses (at least £13,590).
Awards are made for the full duration of a student's fee liability for the agreed course. The continuation of your scholarship each year is subject to an annual renewal process based upon satisfactory academic progress.
How do I apply?
Candidates must first apply for admission to the University through UCAS by 15 October 2013.
Scholarship applications for 2014 entry will then open in December 2013 and close in February 2014 (exact dates to be confirmed). Please note that we cannot consider applications from candidates who have not been offered a place at Oxford.
How will I know if I have been successful?
Successful candidates will be notified by email around early April 2014.
This webpage will be updated to show when all decisions have been made. If you have not heard from us by the time this notice is posted, then your application to this scheme has been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on applications.’
