Oxford seeks to ensure that your financial circumstances do not prevent you from taking up a place on one of our courses. There are generous grants, loans and bursaries available to you, which are provided by the University and the government to help meet the cost of studying at and living in Oxford.

If your household income is between £20,000 and £25,000 per year, you’re studying at degree level for the first time and you are from England, the following applies to you.

Tuition fee & support

The University will reduce your tuition fee to £8,000* per year for Home/EU students studying for their first degree from 2014. All English students will be able to borrow funds from the government to cover the tuition fee. This means you do not have to pay tuition fees until you complete your course. Living costs & support

In 2013/14, we estimate basic living costs during term time at Oxford will be around £7,900*. This figure includes living in college accommodation, food, study costs and going out. You will also need to consider the cost of travelling to and from Oxford, out of term activities and the additional costs of living out of college accommodation which you might do for some of your course.

Oxford's bursary support will assist you with meeting these costs as well as helping you with other opportunities which might become available outside of term such as internships, clubs and societies. In your first year you will be given an additional £500 to assist with starting University and ensure you have funds to assist you with one off costs which you might encounter.
