I’m a mature student

Mature All students are welcome at all open day events.  If you have particular questions about applying as a mature student, please ask in any of the colleges or departments that you visit. You can apply for any course, at any of the colleges which offer that course.

One college of the university, Harris Manchester, only accept applications from mature students, and so is particularly well-placed to answer specific queries. You can ask Harris Manchester for advice, even if you choose not to apply there. The Tutor for Admissions from Harris Manchester will be available at the Open Day Information Centre at the Mature Students stand during University open days.

Three permanent private halls (PPHs) also accept only mature students: Blackfriars, St Stephen’s House and Wycliffe Hall.

I’m a parent

Parents, carers and other family members are very welcome at open days, though priority will be given to prospective students at some busy events. Some departments and colleges hold specific events for parents during open days. The Open Day Information Centre will be open between 9.00am and 5.00pm and also hosts talks and events for parents who are not able to join potential applicants at college or department events.

I'm in care and in Year 12

If you think Oxford could be for you, come and visit us on an open day and find out more about what it is like to study and live here. On top of the wealth of information provided by colleges and Departments, our Widening Participation team will be very happy to answer any further questions you may have about the support available to you as a care leaver and can arrange a one-to-one meeting during your open day visit.
