Most conditional offers for places at Oxford University are for AAA at A-level, or 38-40 points in the International Baccalaureate, with 6s and 7s in the higher level subjects. However, we have also made conditional offers on the following vocational and other qualifications. (Please note that this is not intended to be a comprehensive list of acceptable qualifications and nor does it indicate that these courses are in any way preferred. They are simply examples of qualifications that have been taken by some successful applicants in the past few years.)

Access courses
  • Satisfactory completion of Access to HE Course (PPE, English, English & Modern Languages, PPP)
  • A distinction and two merits in Access course units (Archaeology & Anthropology)
  • Satisfactory completion of Access to HE course, and Grade A in A-level Maths (PPP)
Foundation courses
  • Satisfactory completion of a Diploma in Foundation Studies (Fine Art)
  • Completion of Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Art History)
  • Successful completion of Art Foundation course (Fine Art)
  • Successful completion of History Foundation Certificate (History)
HND
  • HND in Applied Psychology and a Grade A at A-Level Human Biology (PPP) 
Oxford University Department for Continuing Education
  • Successful completion of the Foundation Certificate in English Language and Literature (English)
  • Successful completion of the Foundation Certificate in Modern History (History)
  • A pass in the final exam in the Foundation Certificate in Modern History (History)
  • An average of 70% in the OUDCE Certificate in Archaeology (Archaeology & Anthropology)
  • 120 CATS points in OUDCE Certificate in Archaeology (Archaeology & Anthropology) 
Open University
  • Satisfactory completion of a particular Open University course (English)
  • 4 satisfactory assignments from a particular Open University course (Law)
  • 12 credits in Open University Commercial and Business Law, and 8 credits in an Open University course on legal theory and techniques (Experimental Psychology)
Birkbeck College
  • A pass grade in the Birkbeck Diploma in History (History)
  • Distinction in the Birkbeck course in Legal Method (Law) 
Ruskin College
  • 120 CATS points in Certificate in HE
  • An average mark of 60% in the Certificate of Higher Education
