A* grades
Following a review of A-level achievements, some degree courses at Oxford changed their entrance requirements to include one or more A* grades from 2012 entry. Further subjects also changed their entrance requirements for 2013 entry. Equivalent qualifications including Scottish Advanced Highers, the International Baccalaureate and other international qualifications are also welcome. Full details are available on the Entrance Requirements tab of each course page.
Each application made to Oxford is carefully considered on its individual merits. This includes achievement, or predicted grades, at A-level, as well as GCSE grades (or equivalent qualifications), the personal statement, academic reference, and performance in any written work or written tests required for the course. Where candidates are shortlisted, their performance at interview will also be taken in to account.
