‘The Trial’ is an event held at the University of Oxford by the Pathways to Law programme for Y10 and Y11 state school pupils in local catchment areas who are interested in studying Law at university. The event involves a law masterclass, coaching and advocacy training by Maitland Chambers’ barristers, University academics and undergraduate mentors.

“The Trial” will be held at the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building in Oxford on Saturday 30th March 2019, from 09:45 to 18:00. The event is completely free of charge to students, and lunch will provided at the Faculty.

Applications will be received to attend the event as places are limited. ‘The Trial’ is open to all Year 10 and 11 state school students who are within close proximity of Oxford. Priority may be given to applicants who meet the University’s broader access and widening participation criteria. Please refer to the information provided by your teacher for more details about the event and its content.
