The University organises free Regional Teachers’ Conferences across the UK in summer each year. The aims of the conferences are to equip teachers with the best possible advice for their students on applying to Oxford and to break down any misconceptions that might deter students from applying to the University. The programme for the conferences covers all aspects of the admissions process from identifying candidates to writing references and preparing candidates for admissions tests and interviews.
For more information about future conferences please visit www.ox.ac.uk/rtc.

These Oxford & Cambridge Information Sessions are designed to inform prospective applicants about about the two universities. They aim to:
- Provide an insight into the universities, so students get an idea if we might be the place for them
- Include information about personal statements, interviews, and super-curricular activities, enabling students to maximise their chances of applying successfully
- Enable teachers to gain a deeper understanding of how to support their students through Teacher References, with a separate session delivered by an Admissions Tutor (only available at specific events)
Information Sessions are available for students in S4/S5. Students may register individually, or a school may register a number of students as a group.
Dates and Booking: Future dates are to be confirmed. Please sign up to our Scotland Teacher Newsletter to hear about future information sessions.
Events in Oxford
UNIQ Spring, UNIQ Summer and UNIQ Digital
UNIQ is a programme of free residentials at the University of Oxford, plus a digital programme of activities. UNIQ is open to students studying in their first year of further education and who are based at UK state schools/colleges.
Students apply for a specific course that aims to give them a realistic view of Oxford student life. UNIQ participants live in an Oxford college/annexe for one week in the summer. They attend lectures and seminars in their chosen subject, and workshops about applying to Oxford. Participants also take part in a variety of social activities in the evenings.
Applications open in December each year.
Find out more about the UNIQ programme at www.uniq.ox.ac.uk.
Teacher Summer School
The Oxford Teacher Summer School is a two-day residential conference in Oxford for teachers at state-funded schools and colleges in the UK. The conference aims to support teachers to stretch and challenge their most able students, and equip them with the best possible advice and guidance on selective university admissions.
The conference is aimed at teachers with roles/responsibilities in university guidance. We particularly welcome applications from schools with a limited history of sending students to selective universities generally and Oxford specifically. Participation in the conference is free and includes two nights’ accommodation in an Oxford college and meals. We can also offer a contribution towards the travel and cover costs associated with attending.
The Teacher Summer School usually takes place in Oxford in July each year.
For further information please visit www.ox.ac.uk/teachersummerschool.
Students, parents and teachers are invited to spend a whole day in Oxford, attending events, talking to staff and students and getting answers to any questions which remain after examining the prospectus and website. Open Days offer an ideal opportunity to explore Oxford, find out more about our courses, tour colleges and quiz tutors and students.
