What about me?

I’m an international student

All students are welcome at all open day events.  If you have particular questions about applying as an international student, or about getting a visa, please come and speak to our International team in the Open Day Information Centre. You can apply for any course at any of the colleges which offer that course. There are no quotas or restrictions on international students, except for Medicine, where the government restricts us to only 14 students per year from outside the European Union.

I’m a mature student

All students are welcome at all open day events.  If you have particular questions about applying as a mature student, please ask in any of the colleges or departments that you visit. You can apply for any course, at any of the colleges which offer that course.

One college of the university, Harris Manchester, only accepts applications from mature students, and so is particularly well-placed to answer specific queries. You can ask Harris Manchester for advice, even if you choose not to apply there. Three permanent private halls (PPHs) also accept mature students only: Blackfriars, St Stephen’s House and Wycliffe Hall. Staff from Harris Manchester and Blackfriars will be available at the Open Day Information Centre at the Mature Students' stand during University open days.

I’m a parent

Parents, carers and other family members are very welcome at open days, though priority will be given to prospective students at some busy events. Some departments and colleges hold specific events for parents during open days. The Open Day Information Centre at the Examination Schools in the High Street will be open between 09.00 and 17.00 and also hosts talks and events for parents who are not able to join potential applicants at college or department events.

I'm in care and in Year 12

If you think Oxford could be for you, come and visit us on an open day and find out more about what it is like to study and live here. On top of the wealth of information provided by colleges and departments, our Widening Participation team will be very happy to answer any further questions you may have about the support available to you as a care leaver and can arrange a one-to-one meeting during your open day visit.

I’m a teacher

Teachers are very welcome at open days, though priority will be given to prospective students at some busy events. There will be specific events for teachers held by some departments and colleges during open days, and you are always welcome in the Open Day Information Centre. Here there will be a 'Teachers' Forum'; giving you the chance to meet our admissions staff, receive updates on changes to the Oxford admissions process, and ask any questions you may have about supporting your students when they are considering and applying to Oxford.

If you are bringing a coach or minibus to the open day, please see our advice about parking. You may also like to see our teachers’ e-guide and sign up for our teachers’ e-newsletter.
