St Peter's College

About the college

Located in the heart of Oxford, St Peter’s is known for its friendliness, informality, excellent relations between students and tutors and strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and student support.

""""""

All freshers live in college in single study bedrooms. St Peter's can house up to half of its second-year students in college rooms, as well as all third-years who wish to live in college accommodation. Students live either on the main college site or in college-owned accommodation located just five minutes' walk away.

The dining hall caters for a variety of different diets and budgets, favouring fresh ingredients and original recipes. The student-run St Peter's College bar and flourishing programme of community activities and opportunities add to the warmth of college life. Both the beautiful college library and the dedicated law library are open 24 hours a day.

The Student Finance Officer helps students navigate their budgeting and financial questions and the college makes available several grants, bursaries, scholarships and hardship funds to support student success.

The college encourages students to engage in extra-curricular activities, supporting societies and clubs for music, the arts, sport and other interests. The St Peter's Choir has an established reputation for its choral excellence, diverse repertoire, and collegiality. The college has access to shared sporting facilities, including a boathouse, and students can access subsidised gym memberships.

College outreach

Link areas

In order to ensure that all areas of the UK are fully supported by the University of Oxford, our colleges are working together to establish Oxford for UK, a series of regional outreach programmes offering tailored and local support to students of mixed ages, their parents and teachers.

Getting in touch with the college linked to your region has no influence on your chances of being accepted to this or any other particular college. You are also very welcome to get in touch with any other college for advice about applying or studying here.

St Peter's College is part of Oxford for North West.

Outreach programmes

St Peter’s College has one full-time member of staff and a large team of student ambassadors dedicated to our access and outreach programme.

Each year we deliver events to schools in our link regions of Enfield, Waltham Forest and the Isle of Man, including inbound and outbound visits.

We visit over 50 schools and hundreds of students have the opportunity to visit St Peter’s and learn more about applying to and studying at competitive universities.

Aspire Liverpool residential programme

St Peter’s College partners annually with Aspire Liverpool to bring more than 70 Year 12 students and teachers from state schools across the city of Liverpool for a free multi-day residential programme aimed at widening access to competitive universities.

Subject residential programme

St Peter’s College hosts at least one subject residential each year. Residentials allow attendees to experience University and college life, explore a department and meet tutors and students.
