It is also a country with which the University collaborates academically on a range of projects in the humanities, sciences and medicine, in fields as diverse as astrophysics, nanotechnology, biochemistry and molecular biology.

There are over 140 Korean students currently studying at Oxford, nearly half of whom are current graduate students.

Oxford is home to several Korean academics working in a variety of disciplines. A significant number are conducting research in the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division.

Academics, researchers and scholars across many departments of the University find Korea to be a rich subject for their research. Oxford runs an expanding programme in Korean Studies, with three permanent faculty members and an increasing range of courses on offer to students. This includes the MSt in Korean Studies which has been running since 1995, and the DPhil in Oriental Studies through which researchers can focus on Korea.

The world famous Oxford University Press has an office in Seoul, Korea, which is dedicated to English Language Teaching (ELT) publications.
