The newly formed Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM) runs a large graduate research programme in both basic medical science and clinical disciplines.

The RDM comprises research groups in several centres, institutes and divisions, including:

The constituent parts of the new department operate largely autonomously but collaboration across the parts is close and productive.

Subjects cover a broad spectrum of sciences related to medicine, including:

  • Diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism
  • Evidence-based practice, epidemiology and health

  • Molecular, cell and systems biology

  • Translational medicine and medical technology

The research proposal for applicants to the DPhil in Medical Sciences should normally be two pages in length, covering areas such as the background to the research, methodology, expected results and the contribution to the field of learning.
