Worcester College

Worcester is set in twenty-six acres of wooded grounds including a lake and sports fields, yet it is only a few minutes walk from the city centre and railway and bus stations.

The College aims to provide a friendly and supportive academic and social environment, with excellent facilities for sport, and strong musical and theatrical traditions.

The College welcomes diversity among its students, staff and visitors, and recognises the benefits of having a wide variety of backgrounds, and range of experience amongst its members.

Facilities for students with disabilities

Worcester is committed to making arrangements to enable students with disabilities to participate as fully as possible in College and University life. Prospective students are advised to contact the Graduate Officer to discuss any special needs.

Accommodation and meals

All graduate accommodation is located on residential streets surrounding the College.

Single accommodation is provided in a purpose-built hostel with en-suite shower rooms and shared kitchen facilities and a number of houses converted for student use. Each house has either five, six or nine bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities and communal kitchen/living/dining areas

  • Letting period: Minimum 10 months (October–July)
A very limited number of flats which may be available for graduates with partners; the flats are suitable for two adults plus one or two small children.
  • Letting period: Minimum 11 months (October–August)

Worcester College does not provide single-sex accommodation blocks. All graduate accommodation has kitchen facilities; meals are also available in College during term time. Out of term time, lunch only is available from Monday to Friday.

MCR

All graduates at the College are full members of both the Worcester Middle Common Room (MCR), representing the graduate student body, and Junior Common Room, representing the undergraduate student body.

Worcester’s MCR is a large and diverse community which provides a friendly atmosphere for helping students to settle in both socially and academically.
