Lincoln College occupies a beautiful historic site in the heart of the city, close to University libraries and departments.

The College has long been known for its strong commitment to graduate study, having been the first Oxford College to establish a graduate common room (MCR). Graduates now form half of the total student body of the college and their strength in numbers ensures a vibrant, lively and sociable community.

The College is proud of the diversity of its MCR; over 40 per cent of its members are from countries outside the UK/EU and a wide range of subject areas and types of degrees are represented. Graduates participate in the various academic  sporting, musical and dramatic activities organised in college.

Each Graduate is assigned a College tutor to act as their advisor. Graduates and Fellows are also encouraged to meet informally at regular ‘Conversazione’ where students and tutors give presentations on research in progress, at seminars and debates, at Advisors’ lunches, and at High Table.

The College library, housed in a splendidly converted 18th-Century church, has a comprehensive law collection and a number of rare books in the Senior Library.

Wifi access is available in all public and library areas, with site-wide wifi rolling out for the start for the 2013/14 academic year. Wired network points are available in all student bedrooms and most rooms have telephones connected to the University internal network.

There are also two dedicated graduate computing rooms.

Sport, music and college facilities

The College has an excellent choir, and Choral Scholarships open to graduate students. There are lively drama and music groups, supported by a performance room with grand piano.

Facilities for students with disabilities

The College has four study-bedrooms fully adapted for students with disabilities and special dietary needs can be accommodated in Hall. The Hall and bar are wheelchair-accessible and a new, fully-accessible MCR will open in 2014.

MCR

Lincoln was the first college in Oxford to provide a Middle Common Room (MCR). The Common Room is located in the heart of the historic College site. It has daily newspapers, colour TV, DVD player, Wii and a bar. It is a popular meeting place, especially after meals. Spouses and partners are very welcome to become Associate Members of the Common Room.

Graduates elect their own officers to run the Common Room and represent the graduate interest on College committees. The MCR Social Team organises a very full programme of events and activities each term, with the result that Lincoln is widely reputed as a particularly lively MCR.
