Lady Margaret Hall has a thriving international graduate community, with a well-balanced mix of men and women from the UK, Europe and overseas.

There are active college societies in History, Law, Literature, and a termly Canada Seminar. Within the Beaufort Series of lectures and seminars there are regular graduate seminars and dinners. Social events, at which graduates and Fellows meet informally, take place throughout the year.

The College is adjacent to the University Parks, and is set in beautiful twelve-acre grounds, with gardens leading down to the River Cherwell.

Accommodation and meals

The College offers four free formal dinners per term, and three meals a day are served in College Monday to Friday, with dinner also available on Sunday. Self-catering facilities are available.

Currently around 50 graduate students can be accommodated on site - a new graduate centre and additional accommodation is currently under construction and due for completion in 2015.

The College is not currently able to offer en-suite or family/couple accommodation.

Funding and prizes

In general, College awards are for £2,000. Around seventeen awards are made, including a number of awards in each academic Division.

Library and IT services

The College has a well-stocked library, open 24/7, with particularly strong collections in the Arts and Humanities. The library has ample seating, with wired network connection points in every bay. 

There is also a photocopier, printers, and computers linked to the University’s library network.

There are wired network connections in all rooms and a dedicated graduate computing room.

Wifi access in available across most of the College site, including the MCR and library.

Sport, music and college facilities

The College has a strong music tradition, supported by an excellent organ and Chapel choir, active musical society and practice rooms with pianos.

Sports facilities include a punt house, tennis courts, fitness room, and squash courts shared with Wolfson College. There is also a shared boathouse on the Isis and sports field shared with Trinity College located on Marston Road, offering the facility to play rugby, football, lawn tennis, hockey, and cricket.

Facilities for students with disabilities

The Dining Hall and some teaching rooms on ground floor have wheelchair access and there are level pathways/stair lift to main meeting/function rooms.

There is ground floor access to Library, and managed service for book access on other floors via Librarian.

All of the College's accommodation is on-site and there is car parking available close to the main building entrances. There are seven bedrooms with fully accessible en-suite facilities.

Four induction loops have been fitted in the College (Chapel, Lecture Theatre, Porters Lodge and Talbot Hall) and five student rooms have vibrating/visual fire alarms.

MCR

The LMH Middle Common Room (MCR) offers free tea and coffee for members, newspapers and magazines, a DVD library, spacious TV room and kitchen and dining area.
