Applying for graduate study

Number 6

Collect together supporting materials and submit your application

Make sure you check exactly what materials are needed for your programme.

If you do not submit all your supporting materials including your references (along with a completed application form and payment) by the application deadline, your application will not be considered.

Please check our Course Guide and Application Guide to see exactly what is required for your programme of study – at the very least this will include your CV, an academic transcript and three academic references. It may also include a statement of purpose or research proposal, written work, documentary evidence of your English proficiency (if your first language is not English) and other items.

It is your responsibility to ask your referees to write a reference for you. Make sure that you give them plenty of notice and that you make them aware of the deadline. They will need to submit their references online; please see the Application Guide for details.

Make sure your application is complete and in time for the application deadline!

If you are unable to use the online application form please contact us at graduate.admissions@admin.ox.ac.uk.

There is a non-refundable application fee of £50 to pay for each application you make (but please note this may be subject to change without notice). We will not be able to process your application unless we receive payment in full using the correct payment method, so please do check our Application Guide carefully for full details.

For more information on the next steps in the admissions process and what to expect after submitting your application, please see our page on Outcomes of your application
