Support for international students

The University’s Student Information and Advisory Service (SIAS) provides a range of advice to new and continuing students. The team coordinates the University’s participation in the Erasmus programme and other exchanges, and provides information on funds and opportunities for Oxford students wishing to study abroad.

The SIAS team includes specialist Visa and Immigration Advisers who can assist students with study visa queries and help with post-study work and Tier 1 general visa applications.

It is essential that you apply to University as early as possible and consider any immigration requirements from the outset. Please see our Guidance for international students page for further admissions information specifically for international students.

The SIAS team also coordinates a ‘Meet and Greet’ service and a day’s orientation programme for international students just before the start of the academic year. The orientation day typically involves presentations on settling into Oxford, and what to expect from student and academic life. In the afternoon there is an opportunity to mingle, make new friends and meet some university staff and student groups.
