If you are a current Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholar and are applying for a second graduate course at Oxford, you may apply for a second Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholarship to support your studies.
This scholarship forms part of the wider Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, managed by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust. For more information please see the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme web page.
The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £14,296). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.
Decisions are expected to be made by the end of May 2017. If you have not heard from us by this time, then please assume that your application has been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we regret that we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on applications.
You must be in receipt of a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholarship for your current graduate course at Oxford and you must be applying to start a new graduate course at Oxford in 2017-18.
You should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence once your course is completed.
You should be able to demonstrate a connection between your subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, explaining how you see your professional work contributing to the improvement of public life in your country of origin or at a wider regional or international level. Preference will be given to Master’s course applicants. If you are applying for a DPhil you must be able to demonstrate how your DPhil studies will benefit your future career in leadership.
The above qualities will be assessed during the selection process, including using your graduate application form, your scholarship statement and (if relevant) your interview.
Current Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars are eligible for the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, the Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme and the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme. In each case, preference will be given to applicants applying for a course on the relevant scheme’s list of eligible courses.
This scholarship is not open to applications from candidates who hold deferred offers to start in 2017-18.
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the University's graduate application form and submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course (6 or 20 January 2017). See the Courses page for the deadline applicable to your course.
You must also complete a Continuing Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholars Re-Application Statement (see Related documents on this page) and upload it, together with your graduate application form, by the deadline.
To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must be successful in being offered a place on their course after consideration of applications received by the relevant January deadline for the course. Course applications which are held over after the January deadline to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline or course applications which have been put on a waiting list are not eligible for scholarship consideration.
If you are shortlisted for the scholarship, you will be required to participate in an interview, which is likely to be held via Skype in April 2017.
