Philosophy

By becoming a graduate student in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford, you join one of the largest and best philosophy departments in the world.

Over 150 Oxford academics are employed by or associated with the Faculty of Philosophy, making it one of the largest philosophy departments worldwide. It is also widely recognised to be amongst the best philosophy departments in the world, ranked first in the UK and second in the English-speaking world by the Philosophical Gourmet Report.

The Faculty of Philosophy offers a wide range of graduate classes, seminars and one-on-one supervisions, providing you with high-quality tuition in philosophy. This includes its flagship course, the BPhil in Philosophy, which we believe provides the perfect graduate level training for further studies to doctoral level and is usually studied as the first two years of a 4-5 year doctoral program.
