Oxford helps people realize their potential and develop skills for life. A higher proportion of Oxford graduates go into professional occupations than graduates of other universities. The most popular job is teaching, with 25 per cent of our graduates working in secondary schools.
Oxford was the perfect springboard for entry onto the Teach First programme. The academic excellence and breadth of the Biological Sciences course made sure that I was well-equipped to teach science to a high standard without subsequent teacher training. Similarly, the opportunity to lead people in projects at college gave me confidence to think I would make a good teacher and leader. Finally the opportunity and privilege of Oxford life inspired me to want to give back to others and provide those from challenging backgrounds with the same opportunity that I had been given.

What you don't realise at the time is Oxford is one massive networking experience. You're studying and making friends with the brightest people in the country - who knows where they may end up in 10 years time? There's no question that I wouldn't have got where I am so quickly if it wasn't for Oxford.
