‘Bridging Centuries’ development in Brewer Street

The new Pembroke College development will provide a striking visual landmark, extending the college’s main site to the south. The modern-style scheme will provide a variety of facilities for the college community, with a bridge across medieval Brewer Street, directly linking the new buildings to the older parts of the college.

Five buildings will be set around two quadrangles designed to complement the proportions of the historic Chapel Quad, regarded as one of Oxford’s best-kept secrets. These buildings will house 91 en-suite bedrooms and six one-bedroom flats, as well as function and seminar rooms, a multi-purpose theatre, a cafeteria and an art gallery. Newly landscaped outdoor spaces will develop further the college’s public realm, while providing an even higher-quality environment for students and faculty.
