Vision for 2020

Keble College will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2020, and its ‘Vision for 2020’ plan aims to provide significant new facilities for the development of advanced studies, interdisciplinary research and student and faculty accommodation.

The redevelopment of the former Acland Hospital, acquired by the college in 2004, will be one of the most significant and innovative Oxford projects of the early-twenty-first century.

The site occupies the space between the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter – the new humanities area – and the Science Area, with its complex of laboratories and departments. Less than five minutes’ walk from the main college, those living and working in the new facilities will be fully integrated into the life of Keble. The development will be sustainable and will respect the environment of the conservation area in which it is set.

The new building will offer accommodation to all students who request it and will also provide living, study and seminar spaces for visiting academics, research and professorial Fellows, as well as a resource centre, performance space and social facilities, creating a vibrant new community at the heart of the college.
