Michaelmas Term 2019 - Newsletter published
The major news in our end of term newsletter is notice of our advertisement to recruit the inaugural fellows for Parks College. We also provide a building update and a brief look at what's ahead for 2020. The newsletter was sent out to all subscribers, and can now be viewed online.

Now recruiting up to 22 Official Fellows
We have just published an advertisement to recruit up to 22 Official Fellows of Parks College. These posts will lead to the formation of our first Governing Body, and successful candidates will play a key role in developing the college's culture and policies, ahead of admitting our first graduate students in October 2021. Introductory newsletter published
Our first newsletter has been published to provide an introduction to Parks College. We aim initially to publish one or two newsletters per term to provide updates about the status of our development. This is one of our first steps to building a community of interest around Parks College, and preparing for admissions to open in September 2020. Open Meeting to be held about Radcliffe Science Library service provision
All students and members of the University are invited to attend an Open Meeting at 16:00 on Monday 14th October 2019 in the Weston Lecture Theatre to present current plans for the continuing delivery of a Science Library service during the closure of the Radcliffe Science Library building during its major programme of refurbishment.

Notice of public consultation
The Radcliffe Science Library will be undergoing a major refurbishment in 2020-22 to upgrade facilities and create a new home for Parks College. A public consultation event will be held to present the building project proposals, and invite comments and questions. All members of the University of Oxford and general public are invited to attend.

College president wins outstanding achievement award
Professor Lionel Tarassenko was presented with the Oxford Trust's Outstanding Achievement Award for his contribution to biomedical engineering and translational innovation in healthcare and technology systems. The Award recognises Lionel's pioneering work in the clinical use of machine learning, and has had a huge influence not just on the development of e-health in Oxford but around the world.

Notice of public information event
A public information event about essential maintenance works required for the Radcliffe Science Library basement is to be held on 21 June, 2.30-6.30pm, at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Official recognition for Parks College
At a meeting of Congregation, the legislative proposal was carried to establish Parks College as a graduate society of the University of Oxford (similar to St Cross College and Kellogg College).
